The Laboratory Technical Support Specialist is a multi-skilled position that efficiently processes patient and specimen workflow to support the Laboratory’s commitment to provide accurate, reliable, and timely information to clinicians. The Laboratory Technical Support Specialist (TSS) provides professional, courteous, and competent phlebotomy and/or clerical services for Hospital inpatients, outpatients, physicians, nursing staff, and support services. This position is responsible for the care of patients of all age categories. This role will be overseeing patients performing self swabbing for COVID testing. This is a general description of the nature and level of work performed by people in this classification. It may not include every responsibility, duty and skill required of persons who successfully do this job. Computer Experience: Basic PC-based knowledge required; experience with networked environments and medical-clinical applications preferred. Clinical Experience: Three months phlebotomy and/or clerical order-entry experience. Language: Must speak, write, and read sufficient English for patient care and customer service activities. Availability: Expected to work weekends on a rotational basis and holidays as needed. Ability to work flexible hours preferred (varied start times, etc.). Possess manual dexterity and ability to learn new procedures and updates within a specified time frame. Epic experience not required but nice to have Minimum educational level attained: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree/vocational training (MLT) desirable, but not required. Hazardous materials certificate desirable, but not required. 2. Must have CA phlebotomy certification and CPT (Certified Phlebotomy Tech)

Top Skills Details:
This role is located in Mountain View. This is an VMS account. Prefers candidates who have Phlebotomy experience and open to monitoring patients performing self COVID testing. EPIC experience preferred.
