This is a fast paced and busy environment; candidates can expect to see 40 patients per day. The hours for this role will be 8am-530pm, but candidates must be available to come in as early as 7am depending on the patient load. No weekend work. It will be working for a group of doctor's offices located in Greenwood. The laboratory draws and runs all samples for patients. We provide timely, expert care in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Because patients often come to us when they are seriously ill or have a complex medical condition, our experts work quickly to reach a diagnosis and course of treatment. They consider the whole patient and promote disease prevention wherever possible. Common conditions we treat include: Vascular and heart disease, Thyroid disorders, Digestive conditions, Diabetes, Fatigue, hypertension, Influenza, Menopause, Urinary problems, Mental health, Blood disorders, Osteoarthritis, Pneumonia, and Migraines.
-Assists in the delivery of primary health care and patient care management.
-Performs nursing and administrative duties.
-Prepares patients for examination and treatment.
-Takes patient vital signs, reviews medications and allergies with the patient, and enters all health questionnaire information into the EMR, WebChart.
-Prepares exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies.
-Helps room patients.
-Prepares and maintains supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization.
-Assists physicians or PAs in preparing for Medical procedures
-Verifies all patients by DOB (date of birth) and full name.
-Performs procedures and accompanying paperwork
-Promotes office discharge process as follows: Schedules requested testing, outside physician appointments, writes or enters required lab orders and prescriptions then gives all information to patient with instructions or faxes orders and/or prescriptions to the appropriate facility or pharmacy.
-Triages telephone calls for referral to physician or nurse practitioner.
-Responsible for restocking examination rooms weekly.
· 2 years of medical assistant experience
· Internal medicine experience
· Must have an MA schooling
Nice to Have:
· Rheumatology experience
· Webchart experience (EMR system)
· Experience in small practice setting
· Certifications: Certified Medical Assistant, NHA Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, NCCT National Certified Medical Assistant, AMT Registered Medical Assistant, and NAHP National Registered Certified Medical Assistant.
