Aerotek is currently looking to hire an experienced PLC Electrical Engineer for a company in the Rochester area. This is a contract position that could last anywhere from 6 - 12 months.

Responsibilities:

  • Establishes a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or project
  • Develops design documentation aligned and traceable with project contractual requirements
  • Effectively delegates work to controls and mechanical engineers
  • Interface with customer engineering and end-user contacts during project design and implementation cycle
  • Develops PLC, Robot, and HMI programs and applications
  • Develops FAT and Field Installation documentation
  • Travels to site to support field efforts (30-40% travel required)
  • Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and occasionally lift 25 lb

Requirements:

  • Siemens PLC programming (from scratch and templates)
  • Experience working within an automation OEM or AS/RS systems integrator
  • TIA Panel (13, 14, 15, 16) experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar along with 4+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of electrical engineering design standards, including NEC, NFPA, and UL standards
  • Gantry, Overhead, and Stacker Crane programming and commissioning experience
  • Pallet, case, and custom conveyor programming experience
  • AutoCAD/AutoCAD Electrical design software
  • Rockwell Software RSLogix 500, 5000, FactoryTalk View ME/SE programming software
  • SIMATIC Step 7 / TIA Portal / WinCC programming software
  • PowerFlex 520/750 Series VF Drives, Kinetix Servo Drives
  • Siemens G120/S120 drive platforms
  • Cognex Data-Man Identification & In Sight Vision systems
  • Fanuc Robot Controller programming and commissioning
