Looking for a Hardware Design Engineer with experience in full product development life cycle and a broad knowledge within design and development of electrical, circuitry, testing, etc.

Duties:

-Performing a wide range of engineering tasks by operating computer-assisted design or engineering software and equipment, including schematic capture and board design.
-Writing reports and compiling data regarding existing and potential electrical engineering projects and studies.
-Preparing specifications for purchases of electrical components and materials.
-Evaluates electrical systems, products, components, and applications by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of electricity and materials.
-Confirms system's and components' capabilities by designing testing methods; testing properties.
-Develops electrical products by studying customer requirements; researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials.
-Assures product quality by designing testing methods; testing finished products and system capabilities.
-Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Products are toppers for streetlights with smart/inter-of-things capabilities including bio recognition, sound recognition, extension of public wifi, smart dimming, etc.

Engineer may create or edit boards based on customer needs and prototype/demo needs. Three boards will be used in most of the current products, a power board, sensor board, and radio board. Boards are low voltage, but may tie into high voltage host electronics. Design is currently done in Orcad.

Skills & Qualifications
Must
-3-10 years hardware engineering
-PCB Design (schematic capture, circuit, layout, etc)
-Designing full product, not just one piece
-Design software (preferably Orcad)

Plus:
-Communications (wifi, bluetooth, RF, ect)
-New product or R&D experience
-Orcad
-High voltage is a plus
