Following recipe guide, measuring and weighing out ingredients
Equipment includes scrape surface- steam jacketed kettles, positive displacement pumps, metal detectors, piping, scales, and various auxiliary
equipment such as grinders, finishers, shear mills etc.
Understand raw materials and functionality of them---allergens, temperature, time, agitation, metal detection, etc.
Adding proper amounts to mix
Picking own product for cooking and documenting into the inventory system
Cleaning and sanitation for all equipment and area
Responsible for running multiple products at once
Attend pre-production meetings, safety, quality, new production and R&D meetings
Mechanically inclined- perform own maintenance on machines
Will have to adjust valves and pumps
NEED to understand weights and metric system
Need strong attention to detail
Clerical duties such as: completing production line paperwork to record daily production which include pre-operation forms, forumla notes, lot trace details, various QA and production documents
Being around equipment safely- following SOP and GMP guidelines
Food handling experience is preferred
HACCP training is a plus
70% of day will be spent compounding/cooking in the batching area- adding material, weighing and quality inspection
20% of day will be spent performing changeovers
10% of day will be spent sanitizing and helping out in other departments
