CAD Drafter I

JOB DESCRIPTION: Performs tasks in the operation and application of Computer Aided Design (CAD) equipment.
-Creates and modifies detailed drawings using CAD hardware and software from sketches, layouts or notes provided by engineering.
-Contributes design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product.
-Checks drawing plots versus the project input for correctness and conformance to standards.
-Works with engineers regarding model accuracy, design, drafting standards and ECN/ECR documentation.
-May work with system management including file maintenance, backup and storage. (It should be understood that this is not intended to be a detailed nor comprehensive description of any individual employee's job content.
-Managers set the specific duties and responsibilities for each employee.)
SCOPE: Under general supervision, performs a variety of moderately complex tasks in the operation and application of Computer Aided Design (CAD) equipment.
PROBLEM COMPLEXITY: Works on assignments that are routine in nature where limited judgment is required.
IMPACT: Contributions are usually limited to assignment related activities.
LIAISON: Interacts daily with supervisor, peer groups, and customers.
FREEDOM TO ACT: Work is closely managed. Follows specific, outlined, and detailed procedures.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
-Associates Degree in Drafting (or High School degree in drafting program)
-1-4 years of drafting experience
-Electrical knowledge and understanding
