Direct-to-Consumer-and-International (DTCI) is a Fortune 100 Company's global, multiplatform media, product, technology, and distribution organization for world-class content. This group is comprised of their international media and direct-to-consumer businesses globally, including all networks outside of the US, the ESPN+ streaming service, the upcoming branded direct-to-consumer streaming service and the company's ownership stake in other streaming companies. The DTCI Tech organization focuses on providing ground-breaking innovation and driving the strategic use and development of technology to power the DTCI business, deliver world-class products and experiences to consumers around the world. The Data Platform group within DTCI Tech, is charged with developing a consolidated data platform that supports DTCI business stakeholders with the means to access, activate and analyze all consumer data in a secure and compliant way.

Overall the objective of this project is to strip out the legacy code from a peer team within OneID and rebuild these frameworks and data platforms in a consolidated manner aligned with DTCI's initiatives and BU's. This role will require a highly collaborative individual to communicate and work effectively across various platforms and teams. Someone proficient with CI/CD technologies, refactoring code within backend Java RESTful web services, and having quality standards in mind throughout development phases is what is needed for this team.

This Senior Level Software developer will serve as one of our core engineerings on the backend services team (BST), helping us drive improvements across the platform. The OneID BST development team is comprised of teams of engineers that work to make sure we deliver a platform to our business partners that facilitates a world class and compliant registration, login, and recovery experience. Engineers on the platform work as a team to set a direction that continually seeks to improve on quality, performance and availability by leveraging automation and best practice. This position will serve as a primary contributor on the team as well as help the team navigate the changing technology landscape. Senior level positions are a key element of team's composition as they serve as initiative leads and problem solvers.

The sheer technical complexity of the platform and the projects it undertakes requires us to continue to staff the team with a base of solid senior level engineers. The team regularly tackles cutting edge issues that come with cloud-based infrastructure, platform resiliency requirements, security, data migrations and sheer scale. These challenges are regularly given on tight timelines, and as such we require experienced engineering leadership able to make the right decisions in a timely manner and drive them to execution.

Required Skills:
* 4+ years of relevant software development experience
* 2+ years of cloud application architecture and engineering
* Ability to lead small project teams and platform initiatives
* Familiarity with various CICD methodologies and implement strategies
* Senior level understanding of Java based web services and REST framework based apis
* Clear communicator (written and verbal); ability to write test plans and test cases, and to communicate bugs to developers and other stakeholders
* Ability to focus on deadlines and deliverables
* Basic Knowledge and understanding of Application Lifecycle Management, Software Development and Agile Development/Testing practices and methodologies
* Basic Knowledge of common performance issues and ability to use logs, monitoring tools, and work with developers to determine a root cause
* Ability to work and participate in a team with open and collaborative style of communications
* Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a cross-functional team

Educational Requirements:
* BS or equivalent degree in Computer Science
