Description:
Responsibilities: Develop electrical documentation packages, descriptions of operations, interfaces between systems, and be on-site during startup to coordinate and help resolve issues. Design in CAD electrical control panel layouts, bills of materials, and schematics. Engineer Power and Control Circuits. Architect Automation and Control Systems utilizing Commercial off the shelf components. Estimate electrical costs and create budgets per project with proposal scope. Program PLCs for control systems that include field devices such as photo eyes, shaft encoders, barcode scanners, pneumatics, scales, motors, VFDs, etc. Responsible for the installation and technical support of PLC based hardware and software. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Assists with project commissioning and troubleshooting of field installations. Assists with creation and teaching of associated training. May be assigned small projects to complete independently.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Requirements: Accredited B.S. degree in Engineering or Computer Science. Minimum two years of related experience. Previous experience with AutoCAD. Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude with a willingness to both design and perform field work. Ability to understand and work from electrical schematics and mechanical drawings. Previous knowledge of commonly used controls engineering concepts, practices, and procedures. Ability to understand manufacturer data sheets and apply them in practice. Ability to configure PLC’s, HMI’s, computers, networks, cameras, and variable frequency drives which are used to control sorters, conveyors, and other related equipment. Ability to problem solve and be creative. Strong communication skills both verbal and written. Ability to build effective relationships with engineering groups, customers, suppliers, and subcontractors. A self-managed individual who is a team player. Ability to travel (20%-65%), work weekends, holidays and overtime when required. Must have ability to lift 70 pounds and climb ladders.
