Patient Access Representatives
Pay: $17 - $19/hr (Depending on Experience)
M-F 8-5 schedule; could be asked to move to an augment schedule between the hours of 6am-8pm.
In this position you will perform general patient access and registration duties in EPIC Practice Management, such as, answer telephones, make appointments, process referrals, maintain provider templates and appointment schedules, verify patient demographics and insurance coverage. Perform general patient account management duties, such as, obtain prior authorization for services, process items in the appropriate work queues to complete registration and enter service capture data. Ensure patient accounts and coverage structures meet standards and billing requirements of various payors. Function as liaison to Patient Financial Services and the Health Plan. Communicate with external government payors and employers, as necessary. Work directly with patients on billing related matters and provide fee estimates to patients for medical services.
Receiving calls to set up appointments for people who know where they want to go. patients may not know where they needs to go so need to be able to be quick on feet and good at navigating through internal sites.
Skills & Qualifications
* 2 to 3 years of customer service experience
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Quick thinker, willing to adapt, strong stress management skills
* Computer savvy - skills test (Data entry/typing)
* Healthcare or Insurance experience preferred
The ideal candidates will be adaptable, productive, and reliable as well as have an ability to work independently. They will have strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills. They must be able to learn new processes, procedures, and software programs quickly, while demonstrating attention to detail and accuracy in their daily work.
Empathy is huge (patient experience huge priority.): ie. able to advise caller if it is urgent need for medical care and need to call clinic directly to get them in.
ATTENDANCE: strict attendance record. Candidates who miss more than 1 day in training or are late more than twice, will be reviewed for termination.
