Position components include inspections of telecommunication attachments. Workload also includes processing telecommunication applications, and pole pulls, designing various types of telecommunications projects including but not limited to cell modifications, new services, customer make ready work, permits to attach (PTA's). The Telecommunications Field Inspector directs telecommunication companies regarding pole attachment processes, specifications and ensure compliance of standards, specifications and policies.

Under the direction of a Communications Specialist or experienced staff, Be able to utilize various reference materials to execute job duties.
Process Telecom permit to attach application to completion.
Deny "Make Ready" and communicate denial to attachment company. (Pole which are too short/bad, propose reroute, Aerial, identify new anchor locations).
Respond to Alden One Conversations.
Coordinate jobs with other Telecomm Personnel.
Plot maps in GIS for proposed pole run using information from Permit to Attach (PTA) applications.
Ensure pole numbers are correct on PTA applications and using correct TRSQ numbers.
ID attachers on system and update GIS if needed
Field surveys using IKE tool. Inspect, maintain and exchange when necessary.
Be able to interpret engineering site plans and single phase load calculations and/or panel schedule for residential design. Be able to manage projects, meetings, and email communication (Customer Service). Be able to utilize Microsoft Office programs for communication, organization, and execution of other job functions. Be able to access and use network drives and records management systems for storing and reviewing documents. Be able to use the WMS to document activities, process projects/designs, and manage work assignments. Be able to open energized equipment for observation purposes and collecting information. Be able to visually identify system equipment and knowledge of basic operation and apply this knowledge within your job functions. Be able to perform field reviews for refundable agreements. Be able to investigate Easement Abandonments. Be able to identify voltages, phases and facilities. Be able to investigate right-of-way encroachments by the company or the property owner. Be able to perform a wood pole inspection and stake a pole for change-out. Be able to create a design for line extension as a result of a new residence and/or upgrade OH/UG. (excluding new subdivisions)
Be able to create a design for line extension as a result of a new a single phase commercial business and/or upgrade OH/UG.
Be able to create a design for pole change out 13kV or 4kV (due to but not limited to the following: new service, new riser, new XFMR, CCP, SI, Raptor Protection)
Be able to create a design to correct voltage drop and flicker (all associated facilities including but not limited to the following: poles, secondary, anchors, xfmrs, cable)
Be able to create a design for installation of a service for a new single phase street light, traffic signal, with or without service addition OH/UG.
Be able to create a design for installation of a line extension for a new single phase street light or traffic signal w/wo service addition OH/UG. Know the submittal process for permits and be able to fill out governmental permits for local AHJs
Be able to process Joint Use Notifications and recognize attachment companies on facilities
