This role is a skilled role responsible for operating an AMADA punch press. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Essential Functions:
  • Perform daily operation of CNC punch press to produce components from mid gauge steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
  • Execute daily production schedule, ensuring constant communication of any issues that arise
  • Inspect workpieces for conformance to specifications, visually or using gauges or templates, and adjust machine to correct errors
  • Transport finished parts and operate forklift as necessary
  • Keep raw material, storage racks and areas organized and properly inventoried
  • Perform preventative maintenance on machines
  • Operate the sheet metal shear machine
  • Understand and follow company quality policy
  • Inform supervisor of any part or equipment defects to ensure prompt response to the problem
  • Complete assigned work within given timeframe and according to specifications and complete all documentation correctly and in a timely manner
  • Adhere to all company safety regulations, including those regarding machine operations
  • Cooperate with other employees in the department to maintain a safe working environment
  • Follow instructions as provided by supervisor
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned work area
  • Accurately attach, track and process work orders and packing slips for incoming materials and finished products
  • Other duties as assigned

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience operating a CNC punch press is preferred
  • Ability to set up jobs according to engineering specifications is required
  • Ability to adjust programs as required to assure production of quality parts is required
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints or mechanical drawings is required
  • Experience using precision measuring tools is required
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift is required
  • Ability to work overtime when required

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to arrive promptly for shift and stand and/or walk for duration of shift
  • Ability to read, hear, speak, kneel, bend and use a step ladder or stool
  • Capable of lifting 50 pounds
  • Capable of working in a manufacturing environment
