Job Description:
Vertex is seeking Electronics Technicians Maintenance I to perform radar transmitter duties on the Cobra Dane radar system located at Shemya, Alaska. This position is a remote assignment in Shemya, Alaska with a rotation of approximately 8 weeks on island and 5 weeks off island.
The candidate will be required to apply basis and some advanced technical knowledge to solve transmitter problems by interpreting manufacturer's manuals, USAF Technical Orders, local operating instructions, and similar documents. Work requires familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits and judgement in planning work sequences, in selecting tools, testing instruments, and is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices. This position works under the supervision of the Site Manager and receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician. Typical duties include; perform operation and maintenance on transmitter control console; maintain array face antenna elements; maintain splitter/shifter driver packages and divider/combiners; repair receiver protectors, Low Noise Amplifier Assemblies (MNASs), and monopulse comparators; maintain transmitter beam forming networks, high power Traveling Wave Tubes (TWTs), regulated and unregulated power supplies, radar modulators, built-in test equipment, transmitter ancillary equipment, and pulse circuits; perform RF measurements; maintain inspection, maintenance, and repair records; and perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:
- Must possess a valid DOD Secret clearance.
- A current DOD security investigation that will support a SECRET clearance
- Two years maintenance experience with high-power radar transmitter and microwave systems
- Experience must demonstrate the ability to predict, identify, and resolve problems
- Experience with troubleshooting and repair of analog and digital circuitry including power supplies. Fault detection circuitry, microwave components, and microwave theory
- Experience in performing data analysis to determine what system, subsystem and components require action to improve radar performance
- Familiarity in the proper use and care of various electronic test equipment including logic and spectrum analyzers
- Two years' experience in reading and interpreting electrical schematics
- Proficient with Microsoft suite including Word and Excel
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Good understanding of electrical safety procedures/precautions
- Experience working with USAF technical Orders
- USAF records management experience
- Quality control experience
- Familiarity with government operations security requirements
- Familiarity with USAF operations security requirements
- Quality Assurance training and experience
- High school graduate and two years technical electronics training, or equivalent experience.
