GIS Technician (0-2 yrs exp.) is responsible for designing digital maps with geographic data and other data sources, creating “shapefiles” to merge topographical data with external data, converting physical maps into a digital form for computer usage, performing data conversion and managing digital library of geographic maps for LED lighting units. This position provides support for mapping print data for the municipal distribution specialist for the ALDOT permit process for all six divisions/territories.

Additionally, the GIS Analyst (2+ yrs exp) will support the duties above as well as being responsible for discovering patterns and trends through spatial mapping, finding anomalies in statistical data, developing mapping applications and tools and managing a digital library of geographic maps in various file types for LED lighting units in conjunction with Power Delivery and its technology work procedures.
