Prior Authorization Specialist

• Pay: $17.00-19.00/hour
• Shift: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
  • Must have flexibility to occasionally work until 6:30pm if needed
• In-office position: Office is located in Louisville, KY

Job Description:

• Verifies insurance eligibility and benefits of prospects/referrals.
• Determines rate requirements as it relates to in or out of network coverage.
• Communicates patient benefits in a timely manner.
• Documents and forwards patient deductible, out-of-pocket expense, life time maximum, etc. to agencies.
• Reviews and replies to branch locations urgent requests.
• Obtains all authorization needed from payer for services ordered or requested.
• Serves as a liaison between the branch location and the payer on a regular basis.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2-3+ years of Insurance Verifications and/or Prior Authorization
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to stay organized and multi-task
• Reliable - must be able to work in-office 5 days/week
• Former revenue cycle experience is preferred, not required
• EPIC system experience is preferred, not required
