We are looking for someone who thrives under pressure and short deadlines and who is willing to think outside the box. In this key role, you’ll utilize your knowledge to program a variety of CNC machines to efficiently produce prototype and production parts to specification. You will also often assist with set-up, operation and inspection of the parts produced. This position is located in Phoenix, AZ near the Deer Valley Airport.

Responsibilities include:

● Work with a variety of materials, tooling, and machine operations

● Interpret engineering drawings and sketches to plan, layout, and establish set-up procedures

● Inspect first-run and in-process parts using precision measuring equipment

● Promptly and accurately complete all required recordkeeping

● Maintain security and confidentiality of customer and internal products and documentation

● Participate in providing timely feedback to upstream and downstream operations as appropriate

● Provide feedback on ways to reduce scrap created within the process by recommending corrective action to reduce or eliminating root cause

● Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor

● Interpret moderately complex engineering drawings and blueprints using associated principles

● Develop and improves machine processes and writes data sheets

● Able to use independent judgment with minimum oversight

Additional Skills & Qualifications:


• 2-year technical degree preferred or equivalent education and experience approved by management

• Mastercam experience

• 5+ experience in CNC programming and processing software

• Ability to read, interpret and understand blueprints

• Ability to write reports, document processes and procedures

• Experience in a machinist leadership/mentor role

• Ability to read, write, and perform basic-intermediate math

● Thorough knowledge of specialized cutting tool selection

● Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures

● Ability to handle multiple and frequently changing priorities

● Strong analytical and problem solving skills
