Job Description
Support the development of manufacturing processes by coordinating with production control, quality assurance, and manufacturing staff to develop routers, BOMs, station plans, and other processes. Develop and maintain work instructions, including transferring them to an electronic format in the ERP system OMEGA. Estimate production times and related costs to provide information for management decisions and enter requirements into the ERP system as a BOM. Perform MRB activities, including supporting root cause analysis, corrective actions, dispositions, and rework operations. Develop, evaluate, and improve aerospace manufacturing methods for existing sheet metal products, request changes, and corrections following ECO process and documentation. Ensure compliance with special process requirements through testing and tracking of testing documentation.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with production control, quality assurance, and manufacturing staff to develop routers, BOMs, and station plans.
- Develop and maintain work instructions and transfer them to an electronic format in the ERP system OMEGA.
- Estimate production times and related costs for management decisions and enter requirements into the ERP system as a BOM.
- Perform MRB activities, supporting root cause analysis, corrective actions, dispositions, and rework operations.
- Develop, evaluate, and improve aerospace manufacturing methods for existing sheet metal products.
- Request changes and corrections following the ECO process and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with special process requirements through testing and tracking of testing documentation.
- Verify existing routers reflect current revision for new customer orders and identify impact of affected operations.
- Communicate with production control, tool design, manufacturing, and quality assurance concerning product design and tooling.
- Maintain procurement texts and support purchasing by updating lead times on purchased items.
- Apply statistical methods to enhance and control future manufacturing requirements and potential.
- At least five years of hands-on experience in the aerospace CNC contract manufacturing industry.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience with sheet metal fabrication processes, including punch press, laser, welding, and vacuum heat treat.
- Five years of experience with GD&T and its application to aerospace parts.
- Five years of experience working with ERP systems, preferably Omega.
- Five years of experience reading blueprints and interpreting work instructions.
- Competency with Solidworks or similar CAD software.
- Proficiency with MS Office products (Excel, Word, Project, Visio, Outlook, and Access).
- Solidworks CAD modeling experience.
- Knowledge of fixture design, jigs, tooling, and process improvement.
- Experience with CNC machines, press brakes, and hydroforming.
- Preference for candidates with a Mechanical Engineering degree.
- Consideration for candidates with extensive experience in place of a 4-year degree.
- Preference for 5+ years of CNC sheet metal forming experience.
The work environment for this position is primarily within an office setting, with limited exposure to the factory environment to review the status of routers, BOMs, and station plans as needed. This position does not provide labor or direct supervision.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Phoenix, AZ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $115000.00/yr.
