Job Title: Payroll Administrator
Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our Payroll team on a contract basis. This role is essential in supporting the daily operations of the payroll department, ensuring timely and accurate handling of communications, data requests, and financial documentation.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage the payroll department’s group email inbox.
- Assign incoming emails to appropriate payroll administrators for resolution.
- Respond to internal and external data requests, including those from other departments and outside auditors.
- Assist in the preparation and execution of month-end tasks for the payroll department.
- Support monthly account reconciliations and preparation of journal entries.
- Contribute to the reconciliation and preparation of payroll-related tax returns.
- Maintain and update payroll records in Laserfiche, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Essential Skills
- Demonstrated analytical abilities with a foundational understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across departments.
- Proven ability to handle highly confidential information with discretion and integrity.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with in-house payroll systems such as PeopleSoft or Workday is a plus, but not required.
- Quick learner with a proactive mindset and a creative approach to problem-solving.
- An associate degree is preferred; however, substantial relevant experience may be considered as a substitute for formal educational qualifications.
Work Environment
On-site at headquarters, Monday-Friday 8 AM-5 PM.
Compensation:$25
