Landfill Laborer

Chiquita Canyon Landfill, a Waste Connections company, is looking for a Laborer to join our team in Castaic, CA! This is a full time, long term position with a reputable company.

The days of the week are subject to business needs and seniority, but this position will be working weekdays starting at 7AM and alternating Saturdays (typically 1 Saturday off per month).

Overtime hours are often required - average of 50-60 hours per week.

Starting pay is $19.50/hour. Overtime pay rate is 1.5x the hourly rate.

The pay range for this job category is $19.50 - $21.63/hour.

Responsibilities Include:

• Spotting/directing trucks
• Picking litter
• Coordinating dump areas for specific waste materials
• Traffic management - moving signs and cones
• Ensuring that all customers are wearing proper PPE
• Cleaning Equipment as needed
• General site cleanup as needed
• Driving employees to their work stations as needed
• Fueling pick-ups
• Performing other assigned duties at the landfill as needed

Requirements:

• At least 2 years of work experience. Preferably in a labor type position
• Valid Driver's License and clean driving record
• The ability to lift up to 75 pounds
• Experience operating equipment is a plus
• Ability to work in all weather conditions throughout entire shift
• Mechanical ability is a plus.
