Job Title: Packaging Engineer I


Job Description

Design and develop best-in-class packaging and labeling solutions from early concept through commercialization for sterile and non-sterile medical devices. Drive continuous improvement and assess current procedures and Voice of the Customer input to identify best practices. Develop packaging and labeling components that enhance the customer experience, collaborating with a drafter to create 3D models and artwork. Demonstrate development lifecycle knowledge through the delivery of high-quality deliverables.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with quality, manufacturing, regulatory, clinical, marketing, R&D device designers, supply chain, vendors, and kitting centers across geographies to ensure project success.
  • Integrate Quality into all aspects of product development and support by maintaining compliance with all quality requirements and leading improvements to help the organization maintain compliance with evolving regulatory requirements worldwide.
  • Support audits, address non-conformances and CAPAs as needed.
  • Lead small-scale packaging/labeling projects or co-manage large-scale programs, driving changes across the portfolio.
  • Role-model a high level of service and responsibility in managing a varied workload from internal clients and working within tight timelines.
  • Independently conceive and develop approaches to problem-solving that require advanced technical knowledge.
  • Work with other engineering teams to integrate automated solutions seamlessly.
  • Collaborate with development teams across the organization to plan, implement, and track end-to-end automation activities.
  • Assure testing is developed appropriately and according to the risk level of the item being tested.
  • Ensure compliance, capability, control, and maintenance of validated or qualified processes, facilities, equipment, or systems.

Essential Skills

  • Expertise in packaging design and engineering.
  • Validation and verification skills.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in a related field.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in packaging design and engineering.
  • Ability to lead and co-manage projects.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills.

Work Environment

The position offers a supportive work environment with 2 weeks of paid time off and 10 paid holidays. You will work with advanced technologies and collaborate across various teams to ensure project success. The role demands a high level of responsibility and service, managing varied workloads and tight timelines.
