Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing accounts payable, supporting vendor transactions, maintaining general ledger integrity, and preparing financial reports. This role requires a high level of proficiency in Microsoft applications, particularly Excel, and the ability to innovate and improve accounting processes.
Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable transactions accurately and timely.
- Support intercompany accounts payable processes across operating divisions.
- Assist with new vendor setup within the AP system.
- Support new product setup within the ERP system.
- Maintain general ledger accounting records to ensure integrity and timeliness.
- Post various account entries such as bi-weekly payroll registers and monthly vacation accruals.
- Perform month-end consolidation work, including intercompany elimination transactions.
- Prepare monthly closing procedures as assigned by the Corporate account review.
- Prepare customer monthly reporting, donation reporting, and dairy-related reports.
- Generate management reports to support variance reviews and daily cash management.
- Assist with tax reporting, planning, and audit completion (internal and external).
- Demonstrate high proficiency in Microsoft applications, especially advanced Excel functions.
- Cross-train on all accounting processes and support other functions as needed.
- Innovate and improve current processes to drive financial and operational efficiency.
- Support both internal and external audit requests.
- Complete additional administrative tasks as required by the accounting department.
Essential Skills
- 5+ years of related accounting experience.
- High School Diploma or GED, BA/BS in Accounting.
- Proficiency in general ledger posting and reconciliation.
- Experience with accounts payable, cost accounting, and financial statement analysis.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Understanding of flows in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with U.S. GAAP.
Work Environment
This position operates on-site Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, located at our HQ office adjacent to the facility. The dress code is business attire, requiring slacks. We pride ourselves on a strong internal culture and offer full benefits upon permanent employment.
