The UCLA Blood and Platelet Center, located at Ackerman, is currently seeking a motivated student worker to assist in recruiting blood and platelet donors across the campus and community. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a vital cause while gaining valuable experience in public engagement and community outreach. Duties include:
• Educate peers and community members about blood and platelet donations, including eligibility, frequency and patient impact.
• Coordinate and participate in classroom presentations to raise awareness around blood and platelet donations.
• Engage with existing whole blood donors to introduce the benefits and importance of platelet donations, converting to platelet donors when possible.
• Maintain a donor conversion pipeline, tracking interest and follow-ups using recruitment tolls and spreadsheets.
• Support telerecruitment efforts and administer survey responses as needed.
• Collaborate with our Recruitment team to enhance our social media content and outreach efforts.

Note: This position is open exclusively to current UCLA students.

Salary Range: $24.00/hour - $47.00/hour

Job Qualifications
Qualifications
• Must be a current UCLA student.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Comfortable speaking to individuals and groups.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Passion for healthcare, public service, or nonprofit work.
• Flexibility to accommodate various work schedules.
• Knowledge of blood donation process - preferred.
• Social media experience - preferred.
