Description
• Incumbent will perform duties as a Operating Room Assistant to include: patient care; blood products, specimens, and equipment transport; equipment maintenance, room readiness, restocking supplies, cleaning soiled supplies, storing and distributing anesthesia support materials. Other duties include, but are not limited to: customer service and departmental efficiencies. The OR Asst is under the direct supervision of the MSO, Charge Nurse or OR lead member. Assignments are given according to organizational goals.

• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job: Ability to lift, carry, push or pull 50lbs. or more, constant (80-90% of the time). Dexterity to operate equipment. Communication skills to take direction or instructions. Ability to articulate with a diverse and multidisciplinary team. Awareness of potential exposure to injury of hazardous materials. Knowledge of disinfectants germicides, and sterilants . Knowledge of infection control, AORN, and AAMI standards related to job functions. Knowledge of government regulations: JCAHO, OSHA, Waste Management ,. High school diploma required. BLS required . Hospital Operating Room experience preferred.
