As a dosimetrist at UCLA Radiation Oncology, you will be at the forefront of patient care, playing a crucial role in treatment planning and ensuring the precise delivery of radiation therapy. Required:
- Bachelor's degree and one year of training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- CMD eligible
- Knowledgeable in the operation of radiotherapy equipment, including linear accelerators, cobalt teletherapy units, simulators, dosimetric equipment, brachytherapy equipment, computerized treatment planning systems, and record and verification/patient information management systems.
- Proficient in external beam and brachytherapy treatment planning.
- Ability to perform and analyze in-vivo and in-phantom measurements.
- Knowledgeable of current radiotherapy treatment techniques.
- Ability to assess and plot radiation dose distributions.
- Skill in providing treatment planning and dose-calculation services for patient treatment and diagnosis with external, interstitial, intracavitary, and distributed internal sources.
- Knowledge of the principles of radiation safety and Health Physics.
- Knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, clinical oncology, radiobiology, radiation physics
- Ability to work variable shifts, including evenings and weekends.
