Our work encompasses constructing and optimizing the physical infrastructure connecting vast numbers of servers and ensuring seamless network performance to meet rigorous goals for all applications and services reliant on our network.The Meta data center network engineering team is searching for a passionate leader from a diverse background to join us in tackling complex challenges in automating large-scale physical and logical network design activities. Data center networking at Meta covers a wide range of aspects, from the physical components (fiber and optics) to the logical layer, made possible by leveraging distributed routing protocols like BGP combined with our proprietary software running on our network devices.

Production Engineering Manager Responsibilities:
- Support and lead engineers who are responsible for reliably designing, building, managing, and maintaining network infrastructure design tooling that that enables deploying network infrastructure.
- Understand the Backbone and Datacenter networks to help automate new designs and maintain consistency within the network infrastructure.
- Partner with teams across Meta's Network Engineering and Infrastructure Data Center teams to ensure alignment on Data Center priorities and strategy across the domains.
- Manage flow of information and requirements between network, tooling, and infrastructure teams.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of technical architectures, capacity plans, tooling needs, and automation strategies. Play a key role in creating all-encompassing plans for prioritizing technical and resource challenges.
- Support Engineers in creating automated techniques for detecting problems, reducing their impact, and resolving issues connected to the physical design of network infrastructure
- Support and drive technical roadmap to meet organizational and company objectives.
- Foster the career growth of Engineers by gaining a deep understanding of their skill sets, long-term professional aspirations, personalities, and work approaches
- Establish and promote a diverse and inclusive workplace culture that encompasses employees from various backgrounds and time zones
- Regularly evaluate employee performance, offering constructive feedback on a consistent basis, and establishing achievable objectives.
- Strike a balance between ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and dedicating time to long-term, high-impact initiatives.
- Hold your own in technical discussions, be a subject matter expert, and have strategic influence
- Possess at least 2 years of direct management experience within the technology sector.
- Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or have equivalent practical experience.
- Familiarity with coding in at least one programming language (such as Python, Rust, or C++).
- Knowledgeable in UNIX, TCP/IP, network principles, or similar areas.
- Proficient in creating software and developing automation tools for network infrastructure.
- Well-versed in Network Topology, Network Design, and Physical Infrastructure Network Design.
- Adept at assembling and leading high-performing teams and organizations, including recruitment and performance management.
- Skilled in operating within a cross-functional environment that demands significant collaboration.
- Be a highly technical manager with experience in networking and software.
- Possess experience in developing distributed systems and effectively managing them on a large scale.
- Well-versed in data center networking concepts, including routing and switching.
- Familiarity with InfiniBand (IB), Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA), and RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCE) network topologies, as well as their respective physical infrastructure.
