Job Description

As a Quality Engineer, you will review engineering and manufacturing information on new and revised design documents and specifications to ensure that products meet customer requirements. You will initiate and develop quality assurance techniques such as sampling plans and process controls to assure product quality. Your role involves preparing quality and inspection plans, procedures, and instructions to ensure that quality requirements are clearly defined and understood. You will also participate in the review and disposition of non-conforming materials and work with vendors, customers, and company personnel to resolve quality issues. You will lead continuous improvement activities to reduce scrap, rework, and customer returns, and provide guidance and quality-related training to all employees.

Responsibilities

• Review engineering and manufacturing information to ensure product meets customer requirements.
• Initiate and develop quality assurance techniques such as sampling plans and process controls.
• Prepare quality and inspection plans, procedures, and instructions.
• Analyze and update quality documents within the quality system.
• Participate in the review and disposition of non-conforming materials.
• Collaborate with vendors, customers, and company personnel to resolve quality problems.
• Initiate and collaborate on corrective action requests for timely correction of deficiencies.
• Lead or participate in continuous improvement activities to reduce costs and enhance productivity.
• Analyze and review inspection records, FAI reports, and customer returns to improve product quality.
• Provide guidance and quality-related training to employees.
• Perform internal quality system audits and product/process audits per AS9100 and applicable standards.

Essential Skills

• Experience in Aerospace manufacturing environment (2-5+ years preferred).
• Experience with First Article Inspection (FAI) and Corrective Action (CAPA) (2-5+ years preferred).
• Strong communication skills with vendors and customers.
• Experience working in an AS9100/ISO9000 quality management system.
• Ability to read and interpret complex electrical/mechanical drawings.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• Experience in defense, medical, automotive, aerospace industries.
• Knowledge of electromechanical and electronics inspection and documentation.

Work Environment

This position is based 100% onsite at a production facility with a lab. The quality department consists of 11 total employees including QM, Inspectors, and Quality Techs. The work schedule is flexible, typically from 7 AM to 4 PM. The facility is well-equipped, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
