Location - Mira Mesa, CA

Shift - 1st Shift (6:00AM - 2:30PM Mon - Fri)

Pay Rate - $26 - 32/HR depending on experience

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist with both manual machining and CNC set-up experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will excel in Manual Lathe and CNC Mill set-up and programming, with a preference for those familiar with Swiss Screw. You will have the opportunity to work with 3-axis Haas machines using Mastercam controls, performing your own quality checks with tools such as pin gauge, drop gauge, and calipers. In our smaller machine shop, teamwork is key, and everyone contributes to a variety of tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Review and verify dimensions and tolerances in drawings to determine the best setup and work operation sequences.
  • Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, or materials onto machines.
  • Manufacture jigs, fixtures, dies, molds, machine tools, cutting tools, gauges, and production tooling used in manufacturing processes.
  • Utilize knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Verify conformance of finished products to specifications.
  • Identify and repair minor machine malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjust machine controls as required.
  • Read and interpret drawings, sketches, and documentation related to parts.
  • Produce parts from verbal concepts or inputs.
  • Measure parts using height gauge, micrometers, calipers, and other measurement tools and equipment.
  • Perform deburr, painting, and other miscellaneous tasks associated with completing parts production as required.
  • Confer with supervisors, production personnel, programmers, engineers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
  • Pack and move parts as required for additional processing and/or inspection.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety and environmental requirements.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in both manual and CNC machining, specifically Lathe and Mill.
  • Minimum of 2 years of machine shop experience, including CNC and conventional machines.
  • Experience with MasterCAM and basic computer skills preferred.
  • Ability to use shop mathematics, drawings, and measuring tools.
  • Experience with using measurement and inspection equipment to verify parts specifications and dimensions.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering documentation, technical specifications, and manufacturing documentation and drawings.
  • General knowledge of tooling and efficient machining practices.
  • Good mechanical aptitude.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Understanding of 5S and Lean Manufacturing is a plus.
  • Must possess U.S. citizenship or be a 'U.S. Person'.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00/hr.
