Job Title: Contracts Manager
Job Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Contracts Manager who will be responsible for federal contracts within the Department of Defense and related sectors. This role involves overseeing contract administration and leading negotiations for shipbuilding and shipyard projects, particularly with the Navy and Coast Guard.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate day-to-day contract administration activities.
- Supervise a team of contract specialists in their performance of assigned duties.
- Draft contracts, contract modifications, agreements, memorandums of understanding, terms and conditions, and other contract-related documents.
- Act as the primary liaison and point of contact with the Customer for formal communications and submittals.
- Lead negotiations for new contracts and contract modifications.
- Act as the primary liaison and point of contact with major subcontractors for formal communications and submittals.
- Lead negotiations for new subcontracts and subcontract modifications.
- Coordinate and communicate with all departments on contract-related issues.
- Maintain contract files, including proposals, contracts, correspondence, and modifications.
- Maintain current contract values for validation and redundancy with other departments such as Finance and Program Office.
- Assist in the management and resolution of accounting issues impacting contract performance and payment.
- Lead new business pursuits and change management on existing contracts by developing contract strategies.
- Review solicitations and change requests, develop formal proposals, bids, and contract modifications, and negotiate these with the Customer and major subcontractors.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in contract administration and management.
- Experience with Department of Defense contracts.
- Strong negotiation skills for federal contracts.
- Experience in shipbuilding and shipyard projects.
- Knowledge of Navy and Coast Guard contracting processes.

- Ability to lead and supervise a team effectively.
- Strong communication skills for liaising with customers and subcontractors.
- Capability to maintain detailed contract files and manage complex accounting issues.
- Experience in developing proposals and strategies for new business pursuits.
