Electrical Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and test electrical systems and components for Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) platforms. The role involves developing and debugging microcontroller systems, collaborating with mechanical and software engineers, and maintaining schematics and documentation for electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test electrical systems and components for UAS platforms.
• Develop and debug microcontroller systems and circuits.
• Collaborate with mechanical and software engineers to integrate electrical systems into UAS platforms.
• Develop and maintain schematics, wiring diagrams, and documentation for electrical systems.
• Act as the Avionics liaison between engineering and the production line.
• Address and close out non-conformances from the production line.
• Develop and perform electrical tests and test procedures to verify system functionality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality electrical systems.

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience with diagnosing and troubleshooting circuits in UAS platforms.
• Proficiency in Altium for circuit board/harness design.
• Knowledge of analog and digital circuits, power supplies, and CAN bus communication.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.

• Experience in PSpice and Solidworks.
• 5-8 years of experience in system integration, digital design, and analog design.

This role is in a fast-paced environment where engineers have the opportunity to flight-test their own designs. Projects move swiftly from design to testing within a week, providing a dynamic and engaging work atmosphere.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of San Luis Obispo, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $80.00/hr.
