The Supply Chain and Strategic Sourcing Group at Facebook is seeking a Global Supply Manager for various disciplines (Cameras, sensing, and or Optics) to drive impact and deliver results in highly innovative Meta devices. This position will focus on leading one of the most strategic categories in sourcing. The scope includes identifying, selecting and developing new partnerships for new products and new technologies through early engagement across cross functional partners, aligning external partner strategy to internal product roadmap needs, and to deliver best in class technologies and experiences, accessibly. An ideal candidate will have high ambition to grow with Meta. You must be a high impact individual with a demonstrated ability to succeed in a high-demand and fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to successfully navigate through ambiguities/difficult obstacles through facts & data, evaluation of alternatives, open-mindedness, thought-through strategy, and superior communications to lead cross-functional organizations through sourcing activities will be required.

GSM: Global Supply Manager Responsibilities:
- Actively engage and influence new technology exploration, collaborate with cross functional partners on creating a long term Technology Roadmap mapping closely with Product Roadmaps, and advise/recommend to the executive team a clear partner/supplier strategy
- Own tech transfer into suppliers and elevating supplier's technology capabilities
- Work with engineering teams to engineer manufacturing and process technology solutions that best aligns with our technology partners
- Develop and drive technology partner engagement strategy ensuring suppliers are capable of meeting Facebook's current and future technical and business requirements
- Support and influence HWD engineering team in new technology scoping effort with potential partners
- Continually benchmark the industry to monitor technology trends and ensure best practices are incorporated into the Meta supply chain
- Ownership of sourcing category and strategies, leading 5+ year technology portfolio decisions, partner selection and business negotiations
- Partner and work with a cross-functional team to drive the supplier selection process (own RFx) and component qualification both under strict engineering and commercial best practices/disciplines
- Actively participate in aiding to solve technical challenges along with cross-functional partners
- Ability to perform Value Engineering second source qualification, alternate materials/process evaluation/quality, and other cost reduction initiative at the material/manufacturing level
- Be an expert in commodity technology, cost and supply. Strong command of value engineering and technical cost reduction concepts to both product and category level
- Drive Early Supplier Involvement initiatives to ensure our suppliers are proactively providing input into new product designs and future product roadmaps
- Ability to be creative on drafting development deals to kick start new relationships, and also to preserve a long term view to establish best-in-class pricing, flexibility, quality, delivery, payment, warranty, and service terms
- Drive product cost and negotiate competitive pricing while keeping in mind the total cost of ownership including product cost, CapEx, logistics, inventory and cost of quality
- Apply cost engineering principle to deliver most aggressive should-cost and budget (OpEx/CapEx) projections, with the ability to stand up to the most aggressive alternatives, doubts, and scrutiny
- Formulate contingency plans to de-risk technical challenges, long lead time, single source, and any supply risks
- Drive supplier and site readiness activities for NTI and NPI programs leading to successful product launch with the ability to deliver to the required volumes at launch. This includes coverage across operational, commercial and legal domains
- Accountability for securing components and/or services in the above category that will provide competitive advantage in both technology and cost for Facebook
- Achieve established commitments on total cost results, supply, quality and compliance adherence, and on-time delivery
- Ability to travel internationally
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the consumer electronics or tech industry and experience scaling technologies
- 7+ years of experience in product or process definition, having taken a module or system from concept stage into mass production
- Experience articulating points of view with executive management but execute plans when directed
- Experience working embedded with hardware and systems engineering throughout product development process of technology products
- Experience building relationships with engineering, product management, and other cross-functional partners and drive discussions around optimization of technical specifications, and features vs. value trade-offs
- Experience of optical and/or mechanical technologies, and demonstrated experience with deployment of manufacturing processes to support complex technologies
- Data-driven problem solving skills to address multi-dimensional problems with high levels of uncertainty across multiple functional teams
- Master's degree in technical discipline
- Experience working on New Technology Introduction (NTI)
- Experience and knowledge in Optics, Cameras and Depth Sensing technology
- Experience in sensing and optical technologies
- Experience in financial statement analysis to derive should-cost models and cost competitiveness/financial strengths of suppliers, as well as gathering market intelligence
- Experience in supplier evaluation/selection, should cost models, contract negotiation and supply base management
- Factory management experience internationally
- Experience with medical or ophthalmic industry or experience with silicon or semiconductor fabs covering technology, equipment, process, infrastructure, and scale
