This person will work with the Electrical Technology team and support ongoing project operations as a technologist. Some of this work could be R&D for upgrades or sustaining existing systems. Might also be matrixed out to other projects.

The electronics technician position provides advanced technical support of a variety of electronics systems. Test, evaluate, troubleshoot, repair and maintain complex electronic and electro-mechanical equipment and systems with the use of technological skills, scientific principles and mathematics.

Fabrication/Install JD:

Fabricate complex and highly specialized electronics apparatus that require advanced technical knowledge and

expertise in manufacturing methods, tooling and equipment usage, circuit analysis, non-standard packaging and

enclosures, and component and material selection.

• Install large control, instrumentation and communication systems, which require thorough understanding and

application of system integration principles.

• In collaboration with engineers, designers, and electronics coordinators, design and develop complex printed

prototype models for production which emphasize ease/cost of manufacturing, access for maintenance and

calibration, and cost/technical performance optimization.

• Design and fabricate specialized electronics packaging and enclosures, which require advanced expertise in metallic

and non-metallic material forming techniques.

• Perform Quality Assurance (QA) on any installation and fabrication tasks that are released from the Electronics

Installation shop.


Power supply, Debug, Electronics, Multimeter, Troubleshooting, RF, high voltage, Power supplies, Oscilloscope, Component level troubleshooting, Chassis, Electronic testing, Schematic

Top Skills Details:

We are hiring for 2 Fabrication/Installers

-BSET +3 years, AS +7 years, or equiv military educations. BSEE is okay as long as you are okay being a technician

-Correctly use complex schematics (Electrical and mechanical)

-Experience with soldering and hand-add/replace parts

-Understanding of some of the following electronic principals and parts & symbols (basic series circuit, parallel circuit, op amp circuit, power supply circuit, and/or gate, formula to figure out frequency by timing and voltage, current in circuit, maximizing power through resistor)

Fabrication/Install Role:

-Basic understanding of electrical theory and troubleshooting

-Experience building complex electronic systems per blueprint (give blueprint test)

-Experience terminating wires and building cable assemblies

-Any machine shop or sheet metal fabrication experience is great but not required

Best v. Average

-Industrial, high voltage experience (240v preferred), 3-phase electrical, power supplies

-RF and really strong knowledge of Test Equipment

-Experience working as an electronic technician supporting industrial equipment

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Good v. Great Candidate: Experience with RF equipment, broadcast, RF audio, military radar, microwave
