On a day to day basis job duties will include:
-Installation of waste, drain, and vent systems
-Installation of water lines
-Work with materials ranging from cast iron, to plastic, copper etc.
-Work with and install various types of valves
-Perform soldering and brazing
-Install insulation, perform strapping, and testing of systems
Depending on the stage of the project the plumbing will either be underground, rough, or finish. These plumbers will report to the foreman on site.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
-Journeyman Plumber (6-10 years of commercial plumbing experience)
-Advanced Apprentice Plumber (3-5 years of experience)
-Experience within construction and not service
-Ability to install waste, drain, and vent systems, as well as water lines
-Experience working with cast iron, plastic, copper, etc.
-Ability to perform soldering and brazing
-Ability to follow a five step process to complete work
-Must have own plumbing and hand tools
