Monday-Friday 7:00am-4:00pm

The Buyer is responsible for developing and maintaining core supplier relationships. Buyers will source materials needed, obtain quotes, negotiate prices and place purchase orders for materials required to reach production goals.  Buyers play an integral part in the achievement of on time delivery, quality, productivity, and inventory goals.


  • Source & Order material to support production for assigned commodities
  • Monitors quantity on hand and coordinates flow of materials with the production schedule
  • Initiates quote process with suppliers, evaluates supplier bids and participates in price negotiations
  • Maintains purchase order updating delivery dates, price or other required supplier information
  • Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased, cost, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories
  • Executes purchase order cancellations and resolves invoice discrepancies
  • Places orders for submitted purchase requisitions. Reviews for accuracy, pricing, and delivery
  • Manages all non-conformance material issues with suppliers, communicates outcomes with design, engineering, and quality
  • Coordinate the return of material, corrective action, replacement of conforming material and rework/scrap cost reimbursement
  • Review drawings and work with design, engineering and quality teams to ensure suppliers have a clear understanding of material requirements
  • Ensures purchase orders reference latest plan revisions and provide suppliers with drawings, terms and conditions
  • Prepares reports, plans and updates metrics as required
  • Develop and implement programs to establish cost-savings initiatives


  • High School diploma required
  • 5+ years of procurement/buying experience
  • Minimum of 5+ years of procurement/purchasing experience
  • Construction, Building, Aerospace, or Manufacturing experience required
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in creating inventory control systems including replenishment triggers (i.e. Kanban, min/max, VMI, consignment) excess & obsolete and new part introduction
  • Advanced to expert level negotiation and problem-solving skills required
