The Senior Program Manager (SPM) is responsible for achieving customer satisfaction and overall program success across multiple projects with a single strategic customer. The SPM works closely with the customer and individual Project Management Teams to define project objectives, create a plan for and executing the plan to achieve those objectives. The Senior Program Manager has a working knowledge of the technical and organizational environments in which the project deliverables are created and in which they will be used. The SPM must be an excellent communicator at all levels within the project environment, including the customer’s organization, be proactive, exhibit strong leadership qualities. The role of the Senior Program Manager is to lead the program and coordinate all Business Unit’s (BUs) resources assigned to a Strategic Customer account to ensure customer satisfaction and on-time delivery.

-Continually improve customer satisfaction, serving as a single point of contact for the customer across multiple projects and BU activities

-Collaborate with customer to develop an overall Program Management plan to ensure customer’s expectations are met and exceeded

-Work with assigned Project Managers to understand and coordinate timing of each BU’s Project Management Plan for meeting the scope, schedule, resource plans and budget commitments reflected in the Project Management Plan

-Lead the project management teams in developing and managing the Project Management Plan within the constraints established and approved by the company Project Sponsor and the customer Project Sponsor

-Implement and enforce change control over project scope, schedule, resources and budget

-Negotiate with functional managers and/or organizational management to obtain adequate resources with appropriate skills to staff the project team and identify potential efficiencies to drive increased delivered margin.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:


• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Arts/Sciences.

• 15+ years project management experience, specifically in federal government projects .

• PMP certification or working knowledge of PMI methodologies

• Possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Possess strong communications skills, verbal and written

• Possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple projects

• Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office products

• Geographically located or willing to work near customer site for extended period (for immediate position desired location is San Diego/Southern California)
