Our high end furnitiure and coastal decor warehouse client is hiring 5+ shipping assoicates in the shipping department. The manaager is open to candidates without warehouse or "shipping" previous experience but must have eagerness to learn. This person will be lifting up to 30lbs consecutively. Anything heavier will be by equipment where they will be trained. Must be willing to be cross trained on various equipment: clamp, sit-down, reach, cherry lift, boom lift, etc. Also have the willingness to learn and be cerrtified on various forklifts. bilSpanish speakers are fine. There are bilingual leads who are OSHA certified for the training. Day to Day: Given radio, hand out sheets every day given out each day instead of the tail gate. Very cosistent of what they do day to day for swing shift. For 2nd shift, ship out bulk loads throughout the US not just Fedex like Gaby's crew in the AM. They ship out couches, rugs, larger items (60%) the o ther other (40%) for smaller items such as rug pads, chairs, small mirros, lampshades all in brown boxes 2ft by 4ft avg case everything is 30lbs other than rugs machinery picks up over 30lbs- ground boxes, not packaging those, dead pile on the floor not on pallets. Very simple job. Not palletized - very similar. Clamps used for bulky stuff. They will clamp a bed, bedframe, a mirror, stool all in one big chunks - the clamps are massive. For his shift, uses all types of equipment. This manager believes in working smarter not harder. Zero paperwork in this dept. except start of shift equipment check. Using WMS for leads and managers.
