Our client is a nationwide company with a number of name brands that fall under it. The company is looking to add a System administrator where they will be responsible for designing, implementing and supporting the infrastructure to support the business objectives of the company. This position will ensure maximum availability, reliability, and performance of related infrastructure and systems. In addition to strong technical skills, the ideal applicant is able to manage projects and communicate well within the department as well as across departments.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Infrastructure

• Build and maintain back end infrastructure to support company’s growing needs

• Build / maintain servers

• Administer firewalls, load balancers

• Maintain network connectivity internally and between multiple sites

• Work hand in hand with in house development staff and DBAs to implement solutions which allow custom applications to function in environment

Virtualization / Datacenter

• Maintain underlying virtualization infrastructure (VMware, AHV, etc)

• Care and feeding of existing server and network environments

• Cisco / Brocade switch maintenance

• Escalate hardware and configuration issues to vendors

Active Directory

• Maintain multiple Active Directory domains

• Multiple trust relationships

• Internal DNS / DHCP

Identity management environment

• Administer OKTA tenant

• Troubleshooting of application provisioning

• Work with vendors to add products to existing platform

Cloud

• Manage and maintain assets in AWS / Google cloud environments (including VPN connectivity to and from)

Departmental responsibilities

• Participate in on call rotation

• Manage projects and implementations

• Participate in company’s incident management and change management processes

• Coach junior members of the team and provide point of escalation

• Interface with multiple vendors on recurring basis to ensure quality of delivery

• Work hand in hand with business user to ensure needs are being met

• Resolve problems as required, and prevent reoccurrence.

Technical Requirements:

• Substantial analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

• Virtualization technology including Nutanix AHV and VMware ESX

• Manipulation and management of vendor utilities and process

• Strong Microsoft Active Directory Experience – upgrading AD structure, creating trust domains

• Domain level deployments, ideally SCCM

• Data Backups for Virtual and Physical Servers, both SAN level snapshots, VSS, and software driven (Veeam)

• Firewall configuration
