Junior Cloud and Infrastructure Engineer

Job Description

Job Summary: The Cloud Engineer will be a technical contributor in our Cloud and Infrastructure Team. The individual will operate critical cloud and infrastructure services that are part of Arcserve’s service portfolio. The successful candidate will have a track record of success working with other technical personnel in diverse Information Technology (IT) environments. Proven technical expertise in cloud and server administration is vital for this role. We work in a highly collaborative, hands-on, team environment creating a learning culture focused on growing our business.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

• Maintain and operate services in Google Cloud Storage and Google Compute Platform

• Provide hands-on technical support in a global team environment

• Incorporate automation, e.g., use of scripts, to minimize errors and manual effort

• Setup and operate cloud services in various hyperscaler environments such as Google, and AWS

• Setup and operate reliable Windows Server and Linux infrastructure in both public cloud and Arcserve data centers

• Identify and troubleshoot issues while working with the team to efficiently solve problems and implement solutions.

• Perform root cause analysis of critical incidents

• Use trouble-ticketing system to manage and track all work efforts

• Provides on-call support – rotates on-call duties with other team members

• Ability to do occasional travel if required

• Perform other duties as required

Required Job Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience operating and administering IT solutions

• Experience in operating and troubleshooting complex systems

• Ability to perform administration of Google Cloud Platform

• Ability to perform administration tasks for Linux Server environments

• Ability to produce technical documentation

• Good interpersonal communication and organizational skills to work with other team members

• Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills sufficient to meet project objectives

• Ability to work as part of a team environment

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Preferred Job Qualifications:

• Scripting and automation experience for Linux and public cloud solutions

• Ability to deploy and operate Docker and Kubernetes solutions

• Experience with Ubuntu or Debian

• ITIL Foundations certification and/or experience working with ITIL

• Work with cutting edge technology to help define Backup as a Service (BaaS) and Data Recovery as a Service (DRaaS).

• Management, project management and/or team lead experience

• Knowledgeable in storage and disaster recovery infrastructure and technology

• Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills sufficient to meet project objectives

• Capacity to work closely with cross-functional groups in a collaborative, team environment

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner

• Ability to work independently or as part of a team environment

• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
