Job Title: Assistant Environmental Engineer
Job Description
This role provides Engineering services including consultation, evaluation, planning, systems design, engineering surveys, and project oversight to ensure work conforms to accepted engineering standards. The Assistant Environmental Engineer may supervise and evaluate the work of technicians in projects within their engineering specialty. You will be working on projects such as construction, extension, alteration, remodeling, and maintenance of roads, buildings, public and private water and sewer systems, public health regulation and monitoring of water systems, and large structures including major roads, environmental remediation systems, dams, floodwalls, and bridges.
Responsibilities
- Provide engineering services including consultation, evaluation, planning, and systems design.
- Conduct engineering surveys and project oversight to ensure compliance with engineering standards.
- Supervise and evaluate the work of technicians within your engineering specialty.
- Manage construction, extension, alteration, remodeling, and maintenance projects for roads, buildings, and water and sewer systems.
- Regulate and monitor public health aspects of water systems.
- Work on large structures such as major roads, environmental remediation systems, dams, floodwalls, and bridges.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in environmental engineering and construction.
- Ability to manage various projects using established controls and procedures.
- Experience coordinating with multiple trades.
- 1+ years of full-time engineering experience in environmental design and construction projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
- EIT certification.
Work Environment
The work environment involves engineering project settings, including construction sites and design offices. You will use technologies such as AutoCAD and adhere to procedures for project management. The role may require overseeing technicians and coordinating with multiple trades. Standard dress code applies when visiting project sites.
