Meta seeks a highly motivated team player to join our North American Regulatory Enforcement legal team. The successful candidate will work with a talented and supportive team to help lead on high-profile, precedent-setting regulatory inquiries, investigations, engagements, and initiatives with enforcement authorities at the Federal, State and local levels on issues involving our products, including data privacy, consumer protection, civil rights, ads, payments, content, and platform integrity matters. As part of the role, they will partner with internal stakeholders from across the company to mitigate risk.The ideal candidate will have good judgment, a strong work ethic, excellent communication and relationship-building skills, and a strong interest in learning about new technologies and areas of law. The individual should have experience with creative problem solving, thinking critically about risk mitigation, and driving remediation.This is an outstanding opportunity for a talented individual to work on cutting edge issues in an exciting, fast-paced environment with a broad and interesting remit.

Lead Counsel, Regulatory Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategy for managing and resolving regulatory inquiries and investigations
- Conduct detailed internal investigations in connection with regulatory inquiries and investigations
- Represent the company in connection with regulatory inquiries and disputes, including supervision of outside counsel
- Collaborate with product, public policy and communications teams to develop and implement regulatory and policy strategy on important and breaking issues
- J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one U.S. state bar
- 5+ years of attorney experience, including at a law firm and/or in-house with experience representing companies in litigation, investigations, and/or regulatory matters
- Experience developing and executing legal strategy
- Experience collaborating and communicating with cross-functional teams
- Experience with regulatory investigations, engagements and risk mitigation
- Experience working with internet and technology companies
- Experience advising business clients on product issues or developing areas of the law
