Description
Reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, and CNC programs to ensure part precision. Performing tool wear offsets, changing tools, and resetting tool heights to maintain accuracy. Using geometric tolerancing (GD&T) knowledge to meet specifications. Inspecting parts with precision instruments (calipers, micrometers) to maintain quality standards. Calculating dimensions and tolerances, maintaining close tolerances, and adhering to high production standards. Performing routine cleaning and light maintenance on CNC machines to ensure a safe, organized workspace. CNC Setup Mechanic (Higher-Level Role) This person should be capable of: • Setting up CNC machines, including tooling, workholding, and offsets • Interpreting blueprints, including GD&T • Designing or fabricating basic fixtures or workholding solutions • Reading/editing G-code and making minor program adjustments • Performing first-article inspections and using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, etc.) • Troubleshooting machining issues such as tool wear, finish problems, or dimensional variation • Maintaining a strong quality and production mindset CNC Machine Operator (Entry-Level / Intermediate) This person should be able to: • Load and unload parts properly • Start machine cycles and monitor operations • Perform basic measurements using calipers and go/no-go gauges • Follow work instructions, part orientation requirements, and safety procedures • Identify obvious defects or tool-wear issues • Work with minimal supervision once trained • Be eager to learn and capable of developing into a more advanced role

Additional Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma or GED. 2+ years of experience with CNC machines experience with calipers and gauges (precision measuring tools) Strong math skills and experience with gauges, calipers, and other precision inspection tools. Ability to read blueprints and understand mechanical drawings.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $25.00/hr.
