Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cardiologist to join our medical team. As a Cardiologist, you will be responsible for diagnosing, treating, and preventing diseases and conditions related to the heart and blood vessels. Your expertise will play a crucial role in improving the cardiovascular health of our patients.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough examinations and patient interviews to gather information about symptoms and medical history.
- Order and perform diagnostic tests, such as electrocardiograms (EKGs), bone studies, echocardiograms, nuclear testing, and treadmill/stress tests, to determine the cause of symptoms.
- Order PT, ultrasounds, and additional referrals for patients as needed.
- Provide accurate diagnoses based on the results of exams and tests.
- Explain the risks and benefits of available treatments to patients and their families.
- Grow the membership of the cardiac program attached to the primary care practice.
- Perform procedures, such as angioplasty, stent placement, and pacemaker insertion, to treat cardiovascular conditions.
- Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs.
- Educate and counsel patients on lifestyle modifications, including diet and exercise, to promote cardiovascular health.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Essential Skills
- Medical degree from an accredited institution
- Valid medical license to practice
- 3+ years' experience as a Cardiologist
- Strong knowledge of cardiovascular diseases and treatments
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
- Board certification in Cardiology or board-eligible at a minimum
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with advanced cardiovascular procedures and technologies
- Research experience in cardiology or related fields
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Bilingual English-Spanish
Work Environment
This role is 100% onsite in 1-2 medical clinics. You will work alongside one other cardiologist and have a 1:1 dedicated Medical Assistant (MA). The position includes 4 weeks of PTO, 3 Continuing Medical Education days-off for conference/course attendance to maintain clinical licensure, and 9 paid holidays.
