Actalent is hiring an Electronics Technician!


Job Description

We are seeking a Technician to provide engineering and build support for current products focused on nanomachining, laser-based, and cryogenic cleaning technologies.


Responsibilities

  • Build, test, and troubleshoot complex sub and system level assemblies.
  • Setup and debug mechanical and optical assemblies using mechanical prints.
  • Setup, test, and debug pneumatic assemblies using pneumatic schematics.
  • Setup, test, and debug electrical assemblies using electrical schematics.
  • Build assemblies with tolerances less than .001”.
  • Provide and document timely feedback to the Engineering department regarding issues encountered during build processes.
  • Perform and document incoming inspection of parts or assemblies according to written procedures.
  • Create or update manufacturing or quality documentation/procedures.
  • Support engineering through system-level troubleshooting.
  • Install products at customer sites, both domestic and international.
  • Perform and document final testing of the equipment.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience within mechanical or electronic assembly and testing.
  • Ability to read blueprints, especially pneumatic and optical.
  • Proficient in using calipers and micrometers.
  • Experience with functionality testing.
  • Understanding of machinery assembly and testing, particularly complex circuits and machinery.
  • Ability to read schematics and build sheets.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with soldering.
  • ISO background.
  • Ability to build cables.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or build technician role in the semiconductor industry.
  • Experience with AFM and nanomachining technologies.
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for sales support and customer interaction.
  • Basic understanding of MRP systems.

Work Environment

Work is conducted in a mixture of lab/clean room and desk environments. Most builds occur in the lab/clean room setting. The company is progressive, utilizing state-of-the-art machinery. Work hours consist of an 8-hour shift with a flexible start time between 5am and 9am, including a 30-minute lunch break.
