Description:

The Superintendent is responsible for all field related activity such as jobsite safety, cost, quality, and schedule on Duval County School projects in Jacksonville, FL. They work closely with management staff regarding all aspects of the project. Local candidates are preferred.


Inspect work progress, equipment, or construction sites to verify safety or to ensure that specifications are met.


Read specifications, such as blueprints, to determine construction requirements or to plan procedures.


Supervise, coordinate, or schedule the activities of construction or extractive workers.


Assign work to employees, based on material or worker requirements of specific jobs.


Coordinate work activities with other construction project activities.


Estimate material or worker requirements to complete jobs.


Analyze worker or production problems and recommend solutions, such as improving production methods or implementing motivational plans.


Order or requisition materials or supplies.


Train workers in construction methods, operation of equipment, safety procedures, or company policies.


Locate, measure, and mark site locations or placement of structures or equipment, using measuring and marking equipment.


Confer with managerial or technical personnel, other departments, or contractors to resolve problems or to coordinate activities.


Arrange for repairs of equipment or machinery.


Record project progress on specified forms or reports.


Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Must possess a minimum of 10-15 years’ experience as a Superintendent.

K-12 projects experience OR project value of at least $46M required.

Must have tilt up experience.

Must have experience with heavy structural steel.

Project experience up to $50M.

OSHA 30 certified

Must display strong leadership skills and personal accountability to lead projects independently.

Must have strong schedule organization experience.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Ability to meet high quality standards while meeting aggressive schedules/deadlines.

Ability to be liaison between company and owners.

Must have a valid driver’s license.


A plus:

MPDS certified

Equipment Operator certifications
