Description

The OSP Communications Ground Hand Laborer is responsible for working with your hands and assisting directly and indirectly with Equipment Operators, and Splicers. Laborer’s jobs include assisting in the placing, rearranging, conduit, cable lines, handholes, pedestals and drops. You'll work with cables and conduit to perform maintenance and new build on outside plant equipment. As a Laborer, you’ll assist in installing lines and cables (including strand, fiber, coax, and copper) alongside equipment operators to dig holes and bury cables. Most often, you'll work outside as part of a team performing installation, maintenance and repair on facilities that start from outside the Central Office (CO) and stop at the terminal or at a customer's building. This job may include work on weekends, holidays, standby and unscheduled hours, and overtime.
