Automation Test Engineer L1

Job Description

Join our team responsible for testing vehicle customer experiences across data, smartphones, and Web Services. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about providing engineering support services related to Over the Air (OTA) software testing and automation. You will be engaged in both manual and automated software testing of the latest automotive, infotainment, and connectivity technologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and execute test plans, scenarios, and test cases based on project requirements and specifications.
• Identify, document, and track defects, ensuring accurate reporting and resolution.
• Configure and maintain test environments, including hardware, software, and network components.
• Prepare and manage test data, ensuring it is accurate, dependable, and appropriate for testing.
• Generate and maintain detailed test reports, documenting test results.
• Automate test processes and develop automated test scripts.
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders to gather test plans, including test cases and directives.
• Follow guidelines for developing test automation scripts.
• Leverage the automation framework and use Python scripts for automation.
• Create and share summary reports of test results via email and/or Test Rail.
• Investigate all reported valid failures (defects), re-create failures to provide additional details, including logs, and verify regression testing.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in Python, Selenium, and manual AND/OR Automation testing.
• Experience with test plan development and execution.
• Familiarity with JIRA and Agile methodologies.
• Understanding of CAN bus and ISO14229/UDS standards.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Computer, or similar field).
• Worked on at least one project in test and automation or has 0-to-1-year experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with software testing and using Test Rail, Atlassian Jira is preferred.
• Familiarity with automotive communication technologies such as CAN, LIN, and Ethernet is a plus.
• Prior experience in software testing, including running test cases and reporting defects.
