Job Description

We are seeking an Entry-Level Distribution Field Technician to join our Distribution Group in Orlando, FL. This role involves supporting 3rd party attachments (Telecom Joint Use) for a major utility company. The technician will be responsible for collecting data on existing power poles, identifying equipment such as transformers and telecom lines, taking measurements, marking line heights, and capturing photographs. This position provides support to the Distribution Design Team for Florida.

Responsibilities

• The role involvesbeing outside about 90% of the time!!
• Collect and analyze data points on existing power poles.
• Identify and document equipment, including transformers, breakers, switches, and telecom lines.
• Take precise measurements and mark heights of power and telecom lines.
• Capture and organize photographic documentation of field conditions.
• Collaborate with the Distribution Design Team to support utility projects.

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Drive License
• Tech-savvywith the ability to operate necessary equipment.
• Comfortable with outdoor work and able to use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Work Environment

• The role is based primarily in the field, with about 90% of the time spent outdoors and 10% in the office for administrative tasks and data entry.
• The team consists of approximately 18 members.
• A company vehicle and gas card are provided for fieldwork, which is often conducted in groups of two or three.
• The work schedule is Monday - Friday between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM with opportunities for overtime.
