What you'll be doing...
The Verizon Network Systems organization is seeking a Principal Engineer with a product development mindset to join the Shared Products and Platforms team. You will be responsible for leading the architecture and development of our Workflow as a Service (WaaS) platform, which is a Business Workflow Management (BPM) platform based on RHPAM (RedHat Process Automation Management) product.
In this role, you will be responsible to drive overall architecture and development of all customizable components built on top of WaaS platform. You will also be responsible for data framework architecture and implementation to manage the vast amount of data on the platform. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

In this role, you will be responsible to drive overall architecture and development of all customizable components built on top of WaaS platform. You will also be responsible for data framework architecture and implementation to manage the vast amount of data on the platform. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
- Architecting and developing scalable reusable components on the WaaS platform that can be leveraged by other domain teams.
- Elevating the WaaS platform to a product model, building interfaces that allow domain teams to interact with the platform with ease.
- Architecting the data framework, implementing data cataloging and data management services.
- Building AI/ML models using the data collected by the platform to drive simplification and synergies.
- Developing a Low Code No Code (LCNC) framework that will provide reusable modules to domain teams to interact with the WaaS platform.
- Innovating and implementing to drive adoption and scalability of the platform.
- Providing subject matter expertise in Business Workflow Management and implementation of containerized applications in an Openshift Kubernetes environment.
- Developing scalable and portable applications on AWS.
- Having end to end ownership of the platform, managing user expectations, prioritization and delivery in a fast-paced agile environment.
What we're looking for...
You'll need to have:
- Bachelor's or four or more years of experience.
- Six or more years of relevant work experience.
- Experience working in Kubernetes, and AWS.
- Experience in Java, Spring Boot, Node.js/REACT and various JavaScript frameworks.
Even better if you have one or more of the following...
- Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Experience in Quarkus, Kogito, Apache Camel Routes.
- Experience in Oracle, PostgreSQL, and AWS OpenSearch.
- Experience with messaging tools AMQ or Kafka.
- Experience in developing machine learning models using Python.
- Experience developing RESTful APIs for web applications.
- Hands-on experience in RedHat Openshift container platform and Kubernetes.
- ]Familiarity with DevOps tools (Gitlab, Jenkins, Artifactory, Docker, Ansible, JIRA).
- AWS Solution Architect certification and Kubernetes/OCP certification.
- Experience with Hadoop, Apache Spark.
- Good understanding of security best practices, OWASP vulnerabilities.
- Experience leading and mentoring multiple teams and products.
