Electrical Design Engineer specializing in high-speed digital and mixed-signal circuit design to join our Aerospace and Defense team responsible for designing and developing modern communications test systems and solutions. In addition to developing new designs and architectures, the candidate must have solid experience in all phases of new product development from conception to production. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for the total end-to-end process of capturing requirements, designing, developing, validating, testing, documenting, and transition to manufacturing of electrical and electronics systems and subsystems. Work as part of a cross-functional product development team to effectively plan and execute electrical PCB designs to meet critical project requirements and deadlines. Perform schematic capture and direct PCB layout. Perform FPGA development using Verilog and/or VHDL. Define and document characterization and calibration methodologies, Validation and Verification (V&V) plans, and lead the V&V process for individual designs. Work with cross-functional teams across the United States to support new product development and sustainment activities. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Qualifications Experience developing complex mixed-signal designs and architectures. Experienced designing and integrating FPGA and SoC designs using VHDL and Verilog in Xilinx Vivado or similar. Experienced in simulation and modeling of FPGA designs using ModelSim, ALDEC or similar. Demonstrated expertise in PCB stackup definition and trade-off analysis, including physical geometry, material selection, crosstalk mitigation, return path management, and manufacturability. Experience with flex and/or rigid-flex designs is a plus. Experience with simulation tools, such as LTSpice, HyperLynx, or other Spice and SI/PI tools. Experience designing modern high-speed bus interfaces, such as USB 3.x, DDRx, PCIe Gen 2/3, Gigabit Ethernet, JESD 204B, and FPGA SERDES interfaces. In-depth understanding of schematic capture, digital circuit design, design tools, circuit simulation, and circuit layout design, techniques, and verification methodologies. RF circuit design and troubleshooting experience is a plus. Experienced in developing design documentation and test instructions/procedures. Experienced in taking a product design from concept to production. Experienced in design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for test (DFT). Strong analytical reasoning and problem solving skills with knowledge in performing root cause analysis and recommending corrective action to resolve test failures. Experienced with the use of lab equipment, such as DMMs, DSOs, AFGs, and network analyzers Good communication and interpersonal skills. Enthusiastic self-started with eagerness to learn. Ability to act as an engineering lead for one or multiple concurrent projects involving cross functional teams in multiple geographic locations. Must be a US person.

Education/Experience: 5 years of experience in digital circuit card and FPGA design Bachelor’s in Electrical/Electronics Engineering (BSEE) or related field is required Computer Skills: Altium Designer for schematic capture and layout. Xilinx Vivado and ISE for FPGA development. Simulation tools, such as LTSpice, HyperLynx, ALDEC, ModelSim, etc. Software and firmware development languages, such as C, C++, C#, MATLAB, and LabVIEW is a plus. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
