RF Systems Engineer

Our client is looking for a RF Systems Engineer to join their Aerospace and Defense team responsible for designing and developing modern communications test systems and solutions.

The RF Systems Engineer serves as the lead design and integration engineer in the development of custom automatic electronic test systems.

This position is responsible for providing hands-on engineering leadership for the cross-functional project team.

Desired competencies include: good supervisory skills, sound instrumentation engineering skills, demonstrated ability to plan and manage the development of complex RF Test Solutions.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Applies advanced concepts, theories and engineering principles in the design, development, integration, and acceptance testing of automated electronic test systems.

Determines design requirements and assists in the development of bids and proposals, requirements verification matrices, and competitive gap analysis.

Oversees the development of the electromechanical interface between the test system and the customers’ electronic devices.

Provides direct input to the design of electrical/electronic circuits and wiring for integrated test systems.

Oversees or participates directly in the assembly and integration of electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems.

Develops engineering documentation including block diagrams, schematics, operating procedures, calibration procedures, and other related technical documents.

Provides assessments/recommendations in product/system design reviews for developed test systems.

Supervise and oversee applications development within schedule and to quality standards

Top Skills' Details

5+ years of hands-on engineering design experience

Multi-discipline experience in military and/or commercial electronic systems ranging from test equipment and instrumentation, digital, analog, RF and other special purpose electronic systems.

Experience with electronic circuit and wire harness design

Experience with RF switching design and integration

Thorough knowledge of the process in taking a product design from concept to production with demonstrated success in test solutions regarding analog, digital, and RF electronics development, integration, and troubleshooting.

Analytical reasoning and problem solving with knowledge in performing root cause analysis and recommending corrective action to resolve test failures.

Experience in qualification testing, including environmental and safety.

Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or related is required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with GPIB, VME/VXI, and PXI/PXIe test platforms is a plus.

JTAG boundary scan testing experience is a plus.

Excellent planning, coordination, and interpersonal skills.

Proficient in MS Office and Visio.

Experience with LabVIEW, Test Stand, LabWindows CVI, C/C++/VisualBasic, or C# is a plus.
