Job Description:

Our client is currently seeking Environmental Technicians to join their team. They will be responsible for providing assistance in collecting, testing, processing and maintenance of field/environmental samples, which involve knowledge on fundamental field/ environmental support policies, programs and practices while completing appropriate forms, documents and databases. Includes air, soil, water, and related areas. Projects include wastewater treatment plants, landfills, grease traps, and other various environmental sites.

Duties include:

  • Provides field services using standard field/environmental support knowledge in the collection and review of conditions, including taking samples, completing test kits, and taking, documenting and communicating results.
  • Using a company vehicle, picks up, transports and delivers results, samples, documents, materials and other items as needed.
  • Daily setting up of sampling equipment and flow monitoring.
  • Daily maintenance of equipment (cleaning and repair).
  • Constructing and installing primary flow measurement devices (weirs, flames)
  • Prepares vehicle or truck for daily operations, including documents, kits, supplies, materials, safety, and related areas.
  • Reviews, completes and processes standard degrees of logs, documents, databases, and related materials and information.
  • Provides fundamental support in the application and assistance to staff and management regarding field/environmental support policies, programs and practices.
  • Provides support researching issues and developing recommendations to resolve employee, management and related customer issues.
  • Assists in the review and implementation of field/environmental support policies, practices and programs to meet organizational, operations and management needs.
  • Assists with ensuring compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations; receives guidance and direction or escalates when required.
  • Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the department's service to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a work team.
  • Daily setting up of sampling equipment and flow monitoring.
  • Daily maintenance of equipment (cleaning and repair).
  • Constructing and installing primary flow measurement devices (weirs, flames)
  • Interacting daily with clients.
  • Promoting cooperation and teamwork among staff.
  • Following Pace policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Must be comfortable working in the field full time (prefer previous experience working outside), driving to different sites throughout the day (throughout South Florida), and performing all of the environmental field and administrative duties.
  • Must be willing to work weekends and overtime as needed.
  • Education and/or Experience: One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Environmental, Chemistry, Biology, or Geology degrees are preferred.

Required Knowledge:

  • Fundamental principles, practices and techniques of field/environmental support.
  • Customer service principles and practices.
  • Safe driving principles and practices.
  • Understanding of the daily administration of field/environmental support programs, policies and procedures.
  • Fundamental methods to resolve field/environmental support or technical problems, questions and concerns.
  • Ability to learn standard applicable organizational policies and procedures on sample maintenance.
  • Computer applications and systems related to the work.
  • Principles and practices to serving as an effective project team member.
  • Methods to communicate with staff, coworkers, and customers to ensure safe, effective and appropriate operations.
  • Correct business English, including spelling, grammar and punctuation.
