Current State of Florida Department of Health Clinical Medical Technologist license

Experience running immunoassay analyzers

Experience with the operation of Liquid Chromatograph/Mass Spectroscopy techniques and equipment, and integration software such as MultiQuant

Familiarity with Lab LIS systems

Ability to collaborate with colleagues and promote teamwork to contribute to efficient operations

Exceptional communication and organization skills

Ability to self-start, must be dependable and responsible to produce high quality work

Familiarity with MS Office Suite of products


The Medical Lab Technologist's role operates laboratory equipment to prepare, test, analyze patient urine and saliva samples and compile results under the supervision of the Lab Manager

This is a licensed role, achieved by passing the appropriate exams administered by the State of Florida, Department of Health, Division of Medical Quality Assurance

Primary responsibility to will to run samples through immunoassay analyzers adhering to SOPs and per direction by the Lab Manager

Ensure use of appropriate saved methods of integration and that template files are not overwritten or changed

Ability to perform basic troubleshooting on instrumentation, including documentation and restarting of units if they encounter errors/faults

Verify and document instruments’ performance by assuring its integrity of data, calibrating per SOP and including and documenting appropriate QC runs as dictated by SOP

Prepare reagents and store as dictated by SOP, documenting refrigerator temperatures as required

Perform weekly inventory assessment on lab consumables, materials, chemicals and complete and return order requests to the Operations Manager on a timely basis so as to avoid sudden depletion of inventory and costly emergency overnighting of supplies

Check and perform daily, weekly, or monthly maintenance as prescribed in SOPs, and as trained by Lab Manager

Document all maintenance activities and instrumentation faults/errors as they are completed and in the appropriate log books

Comply with all QC/QA initiatives and programs under direction from the Lab Technical Supervisor

Maintain, organize and keep an overall clean workplace environment

Maintain all written and electronic records as required, securing patient confidentiality and securing the work area

Comply with all department procedures and workflow expectations as determined by the Lab Manager or Operations Manager
